Getting started

Signup takes a few minutes. Here's the whole path, in the order you'll see it — and what happens behind the scenes at each step.

1. Tell us about your business

On the signup page you give us your business name, your trade, and your contact details. Your trade matters: it shapes how your assistant talks about your work from the first message.

2. Payment

Zendro Capture is $49/month, no contract. Payment happens right on the page — you never leave the signup flow. The moment payment succeeds, your account exists: we create your workspace and email you an invitation to the console (your dashboard). More on billing in Billing.

3. Connect Thumbtack

This is the step that makes everything work: you approve a connection in your own Thumbtack account, and from then on your new leads and customer messages flow into Capture the moment they happen. Details and permissions in Connecting Thumbtack.

Your lead history starts when you connect. Thumbtack doesn't give us a way to import old leads, so the assistant works with what arrives from that point forward.

4. Set up texting (included)

Texting gives your business its own local number so customers can be reached by SMS — and it's included with your plan. Setup takes about two minutes: a short form, one confirmation text from the carriers, and we file the registration for you. Not ready? Tap "I'll set this up later" and come back whenever you want — same deal, still included.

Either way, this step never delays your assistant. See Texting (SMS).

5. Log in to your console

Check your email for the console invitation — accepting it creates your login at console.zendrocapture.com. The console is where you watch conversations, approve replies, manage jobs and bookings, and change settings. It also installs on your phone like an app — see the steps below.

6. Turn Sending on

New accounts start with sending off — your assistant never speaks for you until you flip the switch yourself. When you're ready, go to Settings in the console and turn Sending on. Why it works this way: The Sending switch.

Put the console on your phone — it works like an app

Most pros live in the console from a phone, so it's built to install like a regular app: a home-screen icon, full-screen, no browser bars, and you stay signed in. About thirty seconds to set up:

iPhone

  1. Open Safari (it must be Safari for this) and go to console.zendrocapture.com. Sign in if it asks.
  2. Tap the Share button — the square with the up arrow at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.

Android

  1. Open Chrome and go to console.zendrocapture.com. Sign in if it asks.
  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Add to Home screen (some phones say Install app), then confirm.

You'll get a Zendro Capture icon on your home screen — one tap to see a new lead or approve a reply. If the icon ever misbehaves after an update, remove it and add it again the same way.

What happens on your first lead

When a new Thumbtack lead lands, Capture reads the customer's request — the job details, photos, their stated availability — and your assistant writes a first reply in your voice, right in the Thumbtack thread. In review mode (the default), that reply waits in your Inbox for your approval before anything sends. Once your texting number clears carrier verification, you also get a text on your phone the moment a lead arrives; until then, every new lead is always waiting in your console Inbox. From there it's a conversation: the assistant answers questions, offers real times from your working hours (minus visits you already have booked — Capture keeps its own calendar), and books the visit.
